Chassés-Croisés |
|
We are proud to present Nicolas Vérin's Chassés-Croisés. Imported from Bagnolet, France (a suburb of Paris), this CD features chamber works, duos and solo instrumental pieces perfomed at live concerts in Paris and St-Maur. | |
Vérin is a prize winning composer (most recently the 2001 prize of "Villa Médicis hors les murs") whose instrumental music is published by Jobert Publishing. | Several of the works on this album evoke the energy of the French equivalent of childrens' games such as "tag" and "hide-'n-seek." Other influences such as European jazz and his own experiments in the field of electro-acoustic music are also prevalent. Vérin has studied with composer Pierre Schaeffer and collaborated with composer Pierre Henry, the two significant historical figures of the famous musique concrète movement. |
